We’re meeting the physical needs of our local community
Anita’s Food Pantry is named after Pastor Alex Lara’s mother, Anita. Despite Anita being a single mom, and not receiving any type of financial or moral support from Alex’s father, she lived to help others and encouraged her son to do the same. In fact, not even a terminal disease could stop her from helping others.
One of the most impactful memory Pastor Alex has of Anita before she passed, was seeing her on her death bed with a few days to live, calling distressed families from her cell phone. She was asking them for a list of needed school supplies and then bought their supplies for them. It is from this “whatever it takes” attitude and selfless actions that her son continues to carry the torch to help and empower others.
Anita’s Food Pantry’s mission is Fighting Hunger, One Family At A Time!

You can also donate financially. Elevate receives 2-5 tons of food from the San Antonio Food Bank, so food is in abundance. However, the food that is delivered by the food bank is not free. Elevate must pay for each distribution. Any amount helps, if you’re interested in sponsoring a food delivery or just want to give please contact Irene at (210) 834-3104 (donation inquiries only).
